Margaret K. Chan, CPA Certified Financial Planner
Founder
Margaret K Chan has been in the financial and tax profession since 1983. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner. She was a former tax manager at Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche) and a partner with a local CPA firm for 15 years prior to founding Vasona Financial & Tax Center.
Margaret has diversified experience in the areas of US and International Taxation, Financial Planning & Investments, Interim CFO to start ups and growing businesses. She has advised hundreds of individuals in various financial and tax matters. Among these individuals are business executives, career women and men, widows and divorced women, parents and grandparents. She has also been a CPA to both inbound and outbound businesses, working in collaboration with attorneys and professional agencies to set up branch offices and subsidiaries in the US, Asia Pacific region and Europe.
She served as the volunteer Tax Advisor at the Silicon Valley International Business Incubator from 1997 to 2000. She also served on the Advisory Board of the Chinese Association of International Trade from 1992 to 1994. Her other community involvement includes board member of A Schmahl Science workshop , City-wide representative on the Community Development Block Grant of the City of San Jose, etc. In 1999, Margaret was honored by the Beta Gamma Sigma National Scholastic Honor Society for her outstanding achievements in business and her extensive participation in community involvement.
